The First Annual Texas Gold Rush Adventure and Music Festival will be held on March 25-28, 2010 on several hundred acres south of San Antonio, Texas; 1604 and Applewhite called Prospectors' Park. This history-making event features several exciting components including: the possibility of discovering over one million dollars in gold bullion, ingots and coins, numerous family-friendly activities, celebrity appearances, delicious food, vendor booths, performers, arts and crafts, live music throughout the day and a special headline concert. More than 30,000 thrill seekers will converge upon the 600+ acre Central Texas Hill Country locale, convenient to major highways, hotels and an international airport. Additionally, this environmentally friendly, green event will make donations to The Lance Armstrong Foundation.
For the first time ever, 5,000 "prospectors" from around the globe will take part in the incredible Texas Gold Rush Adventure on Saturday, March 27. The unique sporting event, set several hundred acres of challenging terrain; will test the skill and knowledge of even the most seasoned prospectors. There is also no monetary limit to the amount each individual can unearth and claim for themselves. Given today's economic climate, the Texas Gold Rush Adventure is the perfect diversion, promising exciting, interactive entertainment for all.

- Ticket holders will exchange their tickets for wristbands at the festival box office.
- Wristband Redemptions will begin Monday 3/22/2009 at noon at the festival box office.
- Wristbands are non-transferable and once removed, cannot be replaced.
- Wristbands must be worn at all times for entry.

- Parking is free with the purchase of your ticket.
- We strongly encourage carpooling to get to the event.
- Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at owner’s expense.
- RV’S will not be allowed to park in general parking area. You must buy a weekend RV camping pass to bring your RV to the event.
- General parking lots will open at 9am daily & close by 12:30am during the days of the festival.
- Free Site shuttles will pick up and drop off passengers at designated site stops.
- First come first serve on shuttle rides. Limited space available.

- Traffic/Parking is managed by a third party vendor who specializes in events of this size. A lot of thought, planning, & experience go into making your visit to the site as easy & simple as possible.

- Unsanctioned vending is not allowed. The only people allowed to vend on the property are those who have purchased a vending space. Any person caught participating in unauthorized vending will be removed the property, your goods confiscated, and subject to arrest.
- All food vendors will be required to apply for a health permit, and maintain Bexar county health guidelines.
- The festival will also feature a carnival midway with rides, games and activities.
- Tickets for midway rides and activities will be sold separately onsite.

Recycling/ Fest Green Practices:
- Food vendors are required to use post consumer waste products/recyclable materials
- Generators will be run using bio diesel fuel.
- Power purchased from the City of San Antonio's energy provider, CPS Energy, will come from their green power program, Windtricity.
- Solar energy will be implemented
- Building supplies will come from reclaimed materials and resources found on the land
- Partnerships with green companies and non-profit organizations will promote sustainability and environmentalism in our Green Village
- Your feedback regarding our greening efforts is very important to us. Please email us your suggestions!
- Local law enforcement, a professional security company & and festival medical team, will be on site to ensure the safety & health of all fest attendees.
- The Gold Rush Adventure area will be heavily secured using law enforcement, security and event staff on foot, horseback and ATV to ensure the safety of all participants, as well as video surveillance.
- All persons wishing to consume alcoholic beverages must show a valid id and be wrist banded.
- Children 8 or under get in free if accompanied by a paid adult.
- Children getting in for free must still wear a wristband.
- Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult.
- Coming with the little ones? Worried about them wandering off? When entering the festival, bring the kids by the tag-a-kid booth at the information booth. It’s free! And if you get separated, we have a way to reconnect you.
- There will be a shaded kids area with many different activities planned throughout the day. As well as special performances from some of the artists. More info to come!
- During the event, come by the information booth. After the event, items will be held for 30 days. After that, items will be donated to a local charity. Event organizers are not liable for any unclaimed items.
- How much money should I bring is a popular question. The following may help you decide what to bring. There will be several ATMs located at various areas of the festival. Some vendors accept credit cards, some don’t. Come prepared with cash, and an ATM or Credit card, so you can enjoy all the festival has to offer.
- Festival Attendees and their belongings are subject to search upon entry.
The following items are not allowed in midway/concert/adventure areas:
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal substances of any kind
- Large Backpacks (no framed packs).
- Alcohol (alcoholic beverages will be sold in various bar tents site wide).
- NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND! (This includes, but is not limited to: glass bottles, glass food jars, and anything made of glass). All glass containers will be confiscated upon entry to the festival and no exceptions will be made.
- Food or beverages (see below under “allowed items”)
- No bicycles or scooters or personal motorized vehicles will be permitted into the festival grounds (This includes, but is not limited to: golf carts, ATV's motor scooters, and powered skateboards). NOTE: You will, however, be able to park your bicycle or scooter at any festival entrance via bicycle racks. Please note that the festival is not responsible for your bike/scooter.
- Large chains or spiked jewelry
- Fireworks
- Explosives
- Umbrellas
- Coolers
- Tents
- Video equipment & recording devices.
- Unauthorized/unlicensed vending
- Any large items that take up more than your personal space
- NO PETS! Pets left in vehicles or running loose will be picked up and placed with the local humane society. Please use the local kennels if you are traveling with your pet. If a pet is found in the car you will be turned away at the gate. Service animals, trained to assist an individual with a disability, are allowed. Please leave all pets at home or board them before showing up.
The following items are allowed throughout the site:
- Blankets/tarps
- Small folding/collapsible chairs.
- Small backpacks/purses
- Baby Strollers
- Binoculars
- Non-professional camera equipment
- Two (2) factory sealed bottles of water.
- Small snacks (such as power bars/candy/gum/etc is ok.)
- Empty Nalgene Bottles (to fill with water once inside).
The following items are allowed in the Gold Rush Adventure area ONLY:
- Hand Shovel
- Knapsack
- Metal Detector
What will be provided:
- Potable water
- Medical Assistance
- Hand Wash Stations
- Pay Showers (at select locations in the campground)
- Portable toilets with toilet paper.
- The General store will be selling sundries (personal hygiene products, batteries, film, disposable cameras, ice, beer*, etc. Note: you must have a camping wristband to buy beer in the general store or campground store. Hours TBD: 8am to 12am Fri-Sat-Sun.
- ATMs - We recommend that you bring enough cash for your stay to avoid long lines.
CAMPING FAQS
What to bring if you are camping:
Here is what we recommend you bring for the duration of your stay:
- Raingear
- Blanket/Tarp for seating
- Sunscreen
- A hat for shade
- Sunglasses
- Camping Gear (tent, tarp, sleeping bags, etc).
- Extra pair of shoes/sneakers with plenty of extra socks.
- Mud Boots (in case it rains)
- Bug Spray
- Hand Sanitizer / Anti-Bacterial cream
- Aluminum or stainless steel container for water
- Biodegradable plastic bags for trash, compost, and recyclable materials
- Extra toilet paper.
- Lantern/Flashlight with extra batteries
- Portable Radio
- Flag to identify your campsite
- Small luggage lock for your tent (please don’t bring any valuables if you
- must, keep them locked in your vehicle out of view)
- Earplugs
- Camera
- Extra set of keys to keep with you at all times (Avoid keeping keys in your car!)
- Vehicle Key Code (this will cut down on the time it takes for the locksmith to duplicate your key if you lose it)
- Phosphate and sulfate free soaps detergents and shampoos
- Smokers - bring an ashtray! Every cigarette you throw on the ground has to be picked up.
For any last minute items you require or may have forgotten, there will be a general store in the campgrounds.
Campground FAQ:
- Once you enter the campground, after Thursday at 8pm, vehicles will not be permitted to leave the festival and then re-enter the campground. This means that if your vehicle leaves the campground area, it will not be allowed to re-enter. This policy will not affect day parkers. Bring what you need before you arrive.
- You may leave the site on foot and re-enter.
- Camping will only be allowed in campground area in marked spaces. Camping is not allowed in general parking areas, or anywhere else on site.
- There will be designated RV only parking areas in the campgrounds. RVs must park where parking staff directs them.
Camping Perks:
- Close to midway, vendors, concert stages, and campground general store.
- No cars or vehicular traffic in camping area.
Texas Gold Rush Adventure Rules and Regulations
- No children under 12 years old. Children over 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult Gold Rush ticket holder
- Fighting, stealing, cheating, weapons will result in disqualification and subject to arrest.
- No weapons, pick axes, or full size shovels
- No outside food, drink, or coolers
- Alcohol will not be sold or allowed into the adventure area
- All sales are final, no refunds or transfers
- No promise participants will find gold and or other prizes
- Participants enter property and adventure at own risk
- Metal detectors and hand tools under 24” are allowed
- No power tools, vehicles, ATV, rolling carts, or dollies are allowed in the adventure area.
- You must be able to carry on your person all equipment, and found treasures.
- Ticket/badge is good only for the person who purchased it
- Badge is only good for hunt area/hunt campgrounds. Wristband must be worn to enter the Music Festival
- Shade, water and bathrooms will be available in hunt area
- Once you leave the hunt area, your badge will be deactivated, and you may not return
- Participation is not allowed by employees and/or family member of the event staff. Including, but not limited to; PGC, EPS, Moore’s, third party vendors, or other supplier of goods/services/staffing, etc.
- Adventure will be held rain or shine. No refunds
- All parties are responsible for their tax liability and will be required to fill out the appropriate tax forms
